## Automating Data Collection

Setup an email address that automatically processes files emailed to it into carbon inventory.

This quickstart walks through the basic setup: create a data collection process, map the file, review and categorise new inventory and entities.

### Loading Subsequent Data

Processes will automatically create data collection tasks. You can load data to these tasks from the BraveGen UI, or by emailing files to the unique email address on the task.

#### Create a New Process

Log into your account, and then visit the process view under 'Collect' in the sidebar. Click 'New Process' button on the top right.

#### Load Your File

Upload your spreadsheet, the system will auto-pivot it into a format suitable for mapping

#### Map Columns

Map the following information in the file

* Entity Identifier
* Activity Goods & Service
* Activity Data
* Activity Time/Date
* Activity Supplier

Optional mappings

* Activity Cost
* Activity Identifier
* Commentary

#### Review New Entities

Follow the steps to create or match any new reporting entities

#### Review New Activity Sources

Review the proposed new activity sources, you can confirm the creation of these, or merge with an existing activity source

#### Review Proposed Inventory Items

Assign inventory rules to generate inventory from activity sources, or create a new rule inline by selecting an emission factor.
